Dr. Suren Pakhchanyan

Dr. Suren Pakhchanyan is the Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and a Member of the Management Board at INECOBANK since 2025. He is a risk management expert with over 15 years of experience advising and leading financial institutions in Europe and beyond.
Before joining INECOBANK, he served as Head of Operational/Non-Financial Risk Management at SMBC Bank EU. Earlier, he worked as Senior Manager within Deloitte Germany’s Risk Advisory practice, supporting German and international financial institutions in operational, non-financial, and general risk management.
Dr. Pakhchanyan holds a PhD in Risk Management (from the University of Oldenburg) and has published numerous scientific and professional articles on topics of Non-Financial Risk Management. He was also a visiting scholar at Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University (U.S.).
Today, as CRO at InecoBank, one of the region’s leading digital banks, he focuses on building resilient financial systems and advancing non-financial risk management in an era of digitalisation, automation, and AI-driven transformation.
