Javier is a dual qualified European Lawyer and English Solicitor with over 16 years Legal, Regulatory Compliance and Conduct experience across Capital Markets, Investment Banking and Sales & Trading. Javier is a seasoned Investment banking compliance SME and advisor combining in depth international regulatory knowledge with solid risk management skills. Javier is currently responsible for Global Conduct and Reputational risk at Santander Corporate & Investment Banking and is also the ESG compliance global lead. He has been instrumental in building a robust ESG Target Operating model for the management of ESG risk and compliance as well as supporting and advising the business and senior management in relation to ESG compliance and risk both at transactional and strategic level. Javier also a business ethics associate professor at the University of Navarre, currently teaching at the Masters in Banking and Financial Regulation including on ESG related matters.
